Driving licences. Electronic cards. Smart cards. Security-type printed matter. ID cards. Speciality design services. Tokens. Cards containing integrated circuits. Card for printing. The successful supplier will provide polycarbonate card bodies for the products DVLA issues. These are currently, but not limited to, the Driving Licence (GB); Digital Tachograph Card (UK); Driver Qualification Card (UK); and other chipped (and non chipped) Polycarbonate card products. The successful supplier will offer the following capabilities:

— design services for current and future chipped and non chipped card products,

— manufacture/supply blank (non-personalised) card,

— manufacture/supply chipped and non-chipped polycarbonate live cards,

— manufacture/supply chipped and non-chipped polycarbonate test cards,

— development and supply of chip operating systems,

— card PKI/Cryptography - Secure Card Delivery (from supplier sites to DVLA nominated sites),

— independent laboratory tests,

— supply of DVLA's existing card portfolio,

— support for development of DVLA's future initiatives,

— support integration of cards with DVLA's personalisation solution (working with DVLA's preferred integrator),

— account management,

— issue investigation, research and development.

The successful supplier will be responsible for providing these products and associated services, through the provision and deployment of appropriate equipment, resources and technology. This is a national (UK) contract. It is anticipated that the contract will be for 6 years with the option for DVLA to extend for up to a further 2 years. The contract may be accessible by UK Central Government Departments and/or Agencies, such as but not limited too; The Department for Transport; The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA); Driving Standards Agency (DSA); Vehicle Operator Services Agency (VOSA); UK Border Agency (UKBA). Access will be for polycarbonate (chipped and non-chipped) and alternative card bodies.
