Staffordshire County Council’s Intelligent Transport Systems team are looking to migrate our Urban Traffic Control (UTC) System to a cloud hosted system.Cloud hosting of our UTC system will mean there will be no future hardware replacement costs and it will free up space in the data centre at Eastgate street. We require Software as a Service (SaaS) which backs up our data and manages the system security, which would previously have been the responsibility of Staffordshire County Council. As part of the process to enable us to go to a fully hosted system we will also need to migrate several of our sites from 3g mobile dial up GSM equipment to IP compatible devices which we are specifying 4g router’s. IP communications is needed to be able to connect through to the hosted system.
